T 1 Properties of Healthy & Diseased Tissue or How to measure T

چکیده
Virtually all MRI sequences produce images with some degree of T1 weighting, in fact probably the only sequence that has no T1 weighting would be a single RF pulse acquisition such as gradient echo EPI performed in isolation (with an infinite TW). Therefore in principle the vast majority of pulse sequences could be used to measure T1 by simply adjusting their timing or flip angles to change the amount of T1 weighting in them,

Endogenous fibrinolytic potential in tissue-plasminogen activator-modified thromboelastography analysis is significantly decreased in dogs suffering from diseases predisposing to thrombosis.
BACKGROUND In people, studies have shown that resistance to fibrinolysis could be a contributing factor to thrombosis. Tissue-plasminogen-activated (t-PA) thromboelastography (TEG) has been used to evaluate endogenous fibrinolytic potential. In dogs, TEG has been used for the diagnosis of various hemostatic disorders, but studies evaluating fibrinolysis are limited. Investigations into the pote...
متن کاملOptical scattering, absorption, and polarization of healthy and neovascularized human retinal tissues.
The optical scattering, absorption, and polarization properties of human retinal tissues are investigated for a number of laser wavelengths in the visible range. The indices of refraction of these tissues are determined by applying Brewster's law. The inverse adding doubling method based on the diffusion approximation and radiative transport theory is applied to the measured values of total dif...
متن کاملStructural Defects Lead to Dynamic Entrapment in Cardiac Electrophysiology
Biological networks are typically comprised of many parts whose interactions are governed by nonlinear dynamics. This potentially imbues them with the ability to support multiple attractors, and therefore to exhibit correspondingly distinct patterns of behavior. In particular, multiple attractors have been demonstrated for the electrical activity of the diseased heart in situations where cardio...
متن کاملTissue material properties and computational modelling of the human tibiofemoral joint: a critical review
Understanding how structural and functional alterations of individual tissues impact on whole-joint function is challenging, particularly in humans where direct invasive experimentation is difficult. Finite element (FE) computational models produce quantitative predictions of the mechanical and physiological behaviour of multiple tissues simultaneously, thereby providing a means to study change...
متن کاملDesign and Fabrication of a Portable 1-DOF Robotic Device for Indentation Tests
There are many tactile devices for indentation examinations to measure mechanical properties of tissue. The purpose of this paper is to develop a portable indentation robotic device to show its usability for measuring the mechanical properties of a healthy abdominal tissue. These measurements will help to develop suitable mathematical models representing abdominal tissue. A 1-DOF portable robot...
